The following adverse reactions have been identified during postapproval use of CRESTOR: arthralgia, fatal and non-fatal hepatic failure, hepatitis, jaundice, thrombocytopenia, depression, sleep disorders (including insomnia and nightmares) and gynecomastia. Because these reactions are reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate their frequency or establish a causal relationship to drug exposure.

Adverse reactions reported in ≥ 2% of patients and at a rate greater than placebo are shown in Table 2.

Crestor (Rosuvastatin) is a statin that can cause side effects like diabetes, liver damage, muscle damage, kidney failure and death.

Liver damage has occurred in some users, so Crestor should not be taken by anyone with a history of liver disease. Instances of muscle pain often accompany statin use and can be minor or develop into rhabdomyolysis, which is a serious condition that damages kidneys and sometimes results in death.

Crestor is contraindicated for pregnant women. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) labels Crestor with the pregnancy category X, which means there is evidence that the drug can harm a human fetus., Women who are or may become pregnant should not take Crestor.
