Respiratory side effects have included rhinitis and pharyngitis in 1% to 2% of patients. Cough and influenza-like symptoms have been reported less frequently.

Hepatic side effects have included elevations of gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) and other liver function tests in a small number of patients. Elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels have been reported within a month after initiation of treatment with lansoprazole (the active ingredient contained in Prevacid) Hepatotoxicity has also been reported in postmarketing experience.

Wonderful I have used Prevacid for approximay 8 months and have not had one case of acidic stomach with it. I tried Nexium and had constipation and headaches with it. My stomach never felt just right with Nexium. Prevacid has been an excellent medication for me.

I just couldn't afford it It was costing me seventy bucks a month...AFTER INSURANCE. I take so many other medications that I just couldn't afford it.
