Hey Stormy (my new moniker for you! sorry) Many people have had odd reactions to Ambien, one woman on this site awoke with marshmallows stuck to her hair and body!!! LOL, sorry but I find this just hysterical !!! Lara xx.

Is it that the ultram of 50 mg isn't strong enough? But it keeps me awake at night, i just can't sleep. I HAVE BEEN ON THE TRAZODONE FOR.

I was on Trazodone for sleep for 20 years - most of the time at 150mg. It helped a lot. I wanted to get off as many meds as possible, so I weaned off it and spent six months getting only 3 hours sleep a night! Now I use amitryptaline, but use it as it helps with bladder pain too.

How I got off Ambien after 1 year o realize that the similar problems I was having were probably linked to the Ambien rather than other factors.

Posted by mack on January 09, 2003 at 21:07:19: Im glad I found this forum because reading the problems that people have had with this medication helped me to realize that the similar problems I was having were probably linked to the Ambien rather than other factors. I took 10-20 mg every night for a year (sometimes more) and if I ran out and didnt take it then I was in for a long night of tossing and turning and feeling anxious and panicky as I tried to go to sleep. When I did take it, I would fine myself "zoned out" the following day and suffering from fatigue, forgetfulness and lack of clearheadedness or "brain fog" and walking around like a zombie.

Researchers haven't found a cause for the sleep-related eating disorder, although patients with a prior history of sleep-walking and women may be at higher risk, Dr. Michael Cramer Vornemann, lead researcher at the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, told the "Today" show Wednesday.

Such sleep-induced side effects while on the medications have been around for years, but the incidence is rising because of an explosion in the drugs’ use, specialists said.

In the Minnesota study, patients who took other, older sleep medications didn't experience the disorder, Vornemann told "Today." "This is a particular association with Ambien," he said.
